This week, I am featuring Tina from Life Without Pink!
What is the meaning behind your blogs title?
I’m a mom of two boys! Before I started my blog, I tossed so many ideas around. Then one day while talking to my mom she said, “you are living a life without pink” and a light bulb went off. I thought it was perfect and summed up my life.
Why did you decide to become a “mom blogger”?
Actually I kind of fell into it. After having my first son, I started a small special events company in my area. I put together luncheons for new moms, toddler events and parenting workshops. I started a blog to help promote our events and was hooked. I started connecting with other moms and loved being part of such a wonderful community. It really helped me as a new mom.
Tell our readers about your family:
I’m a happily married mom of two boys {ages 5 and 2 ½}. My hubby and I have been together for 15 years and married for almost 8! I am work-at-home mom trying to manage it all {if that is even possible}. My family is very active and we love spending time outside. My boys love playing golf, soccer and riding bikes. They keep me very busy!
What is a typical day like in your home?
We are all up by 7am at the latest. The first thing I do is grab a cup of coffee {to help me wake up}, get the boys cereal and check email. I usually let the boys watch a little bit of TV in the morning, as I try to catch up on some work. Then mid-morning to lunchtime, we are either outside, running errands or playing games…basically I am trying to keep them busy! Then its lunchtime and school drop off around 1:30. Once I’m back home, I put the little guy down for a nap and hit the computer to catch up on work. I have about 2 hours {if I’m lucky}. I pick my son up from school at 3:40, back home to start dinner while the boys play. We eat dinner around 5 – 5:30pm, then have a little family time before bath and bed. After kids are finally settled around 8:30pm, I head to the computer to do more work until about midnight.
How do you fit blogging into your lifestyle as a Mom?
It’s not easy that’s for sure. With working full-time from home, it can be quite challenging. I try to get up early in the morning to blog, visit blogs and return comments. I used to try and blog on the weekends to get it done for the week, but now that the weather is nice I reserve that time for family. I try to just blog when I can fit it in.
What are your favorite things to blog about?
I mostly blog about motherhood, raising two boys and my life experiences. I love sharing the funny stories about my boys or challenges I face as a mother/woman.
If our readers could visit just three of your posts, which would be your favorites?
I’d have to choose Mean Boys, Baby Bump Envy, and Twenty Years of Guilt!
Who are some of your “must read” bloggers?
Oh I have so many! I love reading blogs where I feel I can identify with the person or learn from them. Let’s see…some of the ones I read daily are Kludy Mom, The Mommyologist, Things I Can’t Say, and love the new blog Momcomm. Honestly, there are a ton more that I can’t wait to read on a daily basis.
What part of NJ are you from?
Southwest….born there and still here!
Do you visit the Jersey Shore?
YES! Actually this year we will spend a week down the shore and I can’t wait. I have to admit I’m not much of a beach person, probably due to my fair, easily to sunburn skin. We love taking the boys on the beach later in the evening and walking the boardwalk. I have so many fun childhood memories down the shore and I hope my boys will have the same great experiences.
Be sure to stop by and visit Tina over at Life Without Pink to read more about her life in a testosterone filled world–& let her know that The Shore Mom sent you!
