In the spirit of bringing you practical solutions for tackling your New Year’s Resolutions, I met up with local Thirty-One Independent Consultant Marion Saglembeni to give my readers advice on the latest home organization ideas. Marion showed me how to use many of the companies exclusive products to stay organized and stylish throughout the new year. Each season, Thirty-One develops new products built on function and fashion, offering everything from affordable purses to totes to storage solutions to help organize your life.
Here are some of Marion’s suggestions for using Thirty-One bags to help you achieve your better home organization resolutions in 2012:
Hang Up Home Organizer ($45) – The ultimate “family station” is an easy to hang organizer with erasable pockets and a slot to hold your families calendar. Simply hang on a wall, or even the side of your fridge, and have everything you need at your fingertips. Marion suggests using the pockets to store things like coupons, homework papers, and birthday party invitations.
Oversized Storage Bag ($29) – A space-saving storage solution complete with zipper and handles! You can use this oversized bag to store everything from clothes, to shoes, or toys and simply slide it underneath a bed or tall dresser. ”The first time I saw this bag, I thought it would be a great way to store trains and legos in my sons bedroom,” Marion said. She also suggests using the bag to store puzzles, matchbox cars, and Barbies!
Large Utility Tote ($30) – The covered metal rim of this bag helps it keep its form to hold even the bulkiest of items. Consider putting one of these in the back of your SUV to organize your kids sporting equipment. ”In the summertime, this makes a perfect beach or pool bag,” Marion said. “But throughout the rest of the year, it has loads of other uses.” Marion suggests using it to hold rolled-up towels for your hot tub, or even to put by your front door to easily organize shoes.
Square Utility Tote ($24) – Another must-have in home organization. Marion suggests using this square tote as a tossing ground for all of your hats, gloves and scarfs this winter. Other great uses include a portable baby changing station, and general organization in your pantry or kitchen.
All in One Organizer ($20) & Organizing Utility Tote ($25) – Both of these totes are the ultimate in personal organization. Featuring mesh side pockets, as well as 5 exterior pockets on the Organizing Utility Tote, each of these backs are the perfect solution for storing crafts, color books, knitting accessories, and even to use as a portable “office” for things such as boy scouts, or coaching commitments.

Little’s Carry All Caddy ($12) – This is the perfect little caddy with loads of organization solutions. Use to store paper clips, staplers, pens and highlighters in your home office, hand soap and lotions or makeup products in your bathroom, or hair accessories in your little girls room. Marion had a great idea to use this little caddy on your countertop to store your K-Cups and sugars, too! And if you like to compartmentalize your storage solutions, you should know that 4 of these little caddy’s fit perfectly inside the square utility tote mentioned above!
It’s important to point out that almost all of Thirty-Ones products can be personalized for just $7 a piece! Personalizing is an exceptionally easy way to let your children know where toys go when it’s time to clean up, or to keep your pantry or mudroom under control. Thirty-One also boasts wipe-able interiors that are easy to keep clean with a damp clothe and gentle cleanser, making these bags sanitary in function.

My roommates and I need to invest in home organization ideas like these to clean things up and to make more room. With six of us our space tends to get cluttered easily. Guess I’ll just have to make a delayed New Years resolution
This is a great post!
